Article 35 - The K.O.
The suspension
must be entered immediately
(article 19). K.O.
means that the fighter is in a situation where he is not
able to defend himself against the attacks of the
opponent, as a result of a hit, for exhaustion or for a
foul and that he is
Not fight-ready again
when the main referee counts eight. Then the fight ends
by K.O...
The round pauses and the
throwing-in of the toil (giving up) doesn't save
the fighter of the counting out; if he is not
fight-ready at eight, he is counted out till ten and
thus the fight ends with K.O.
The head referee can
break off at any time, if the fighter is not able
anymore to defend himself and has to take too many hits
for hanging guard.
The doctor can break off
the fighting course, too, when he is of the opinion that
fighting on with an injury is not acceptable. Then the
main referee has to break off the fight immediately. .,~
,
If both fighters are
K.o...the fight ends by a drawn.
Tasks of the
doctor for a K.O.
If the head of the
fighter touches the floor of the ring for a heavy head
K.O., the fighter has to stay on the floor for one
"protection minute". The head referee has to provide
that the trainers don't put their fighter on his legs
immediately. Then
The ring doctor
starts his routine examination and after the clearance
of the doctor the fight is finished officially.
If the fighter is
unconscious, the time prologues by four minutes after
the awakening.
