Article 28 : Tasks
of the main referee
For the protection of
the fighters the head referee and his delegate have to
find out for certain, ahead of the event, that the
promoter has done everything possible for the security
of the actives and the audience. This refers to all the
fields of the event. This is included:
General terms:
The fighter has to
present a valid permission for competition.
Exits out of the hall,
doctor and the Red Cross have to be present; the tension
of the ring rope has to be orderly; TV-teams and the
press have to be on the designated places
(Neutral corners); the
advertising space and the light engineering must neither
hinder the fighters nor the audience.
There must be a medical
examination before the fight (event).
It must be controlled,
if the promoter has a license of the WKU. The scoring
judges have to provide, that cameras cannot film the
point slip or photograph it during the scoring or the
final evaluation.
The fighter must bring
their weight exactly till the gram (article 07).
The trainer and the
coaches have to dress sportswear. Dependent on the
discipline the fighter has to dress the prescribed
clothes for fight.
The fighter must not
apply greasy substances on the body before the fight,
which could do harm to his opponent. It is allowed to
have Vaseline in the face. The ring corner has to be
Dried after every pause.
In the beginning of the next round the fighter has to be
dry, too.
If one of the demands is
not fulfilled, the promoter has to provide that these
demands are fulfilled. The head referee has to report
the head office.
The head referee has to
move in such a way, that he is nearly not noticeable. He
has to be fair and must not thrust himself in the
foreground. His task in the ring is to supervise the
execution and the observance of the WKU guidelines.
The main referee always
has to have an eye upon his second for that he does the
correct fight entry. Very important are the
suspensions.
In title bouts, after
the 5th round, the referee has to announce the following
round with the hands and spoken to both corners ("6th
round, 7th round" and so on).
If the time is stopped,
the uninjured fighter always has to stand in the neutral
corner.
If a fighter has a
strongly bleeding wound in the beginning of the fight
and it doesn't stop bleeding after repeated cleansing.
The fight has to be finished officially by (TKO).
This is not the
case if the fight is in the final stadium.
